We’re getting ready to welcome you.
It’s getting more and more exciting, the closer we get to launch. You can sense it in the level of activity and enthusiasm that surrounds everything from meetings and brainstorm sessions, all the way through to our cultural and social events which pepper our week. There really is a great vibe in the office as we prepare to shake up the Banking sector. And I feel really lucky to be part of the Atom family. No two days are the same and the sense of camaraderie and purpose are second to none! It really is a fabulous place to work where everyone is prepared to go the extra mile and remaining focused on building the bank.
I am particularly looking forward to starting recruitment for our Customer Contact Agents, keep an eye on our website, as it means we can start preparing our welcome!
Feeling at home in a new workplace is important – we know that taking those first few steps into a new job can be nerve-wracking as well as very exciting. Our future recruits will probably have a whole range of questions floating around their heads the night before their first day– everything from ‘will I make any friends?’ to ‘How will I know what to do’? As the Learning & Development Manager, one of my most important jobs is to make sure that our new Customer Contact Agents receive a first class induction.
We are working hard with our carefully chosen partners to design and deliver a fabulous 7 week induction, filled with information about who we are, our culture, values, products, internal systems and a chance to practice delivering fantastic Customer Service in a safe environment before we go live! It’ll be held in our office in Durham, which is located in a beautiful leafy part of the city close to the city centre, but far enough away to see squirrels at lunchtime. Perfect.
You probably will not be surprised to learn that we intend to make the experience as engaging as possible, so don’t expect the old-fashioned ‘chalk and talk’ approach. Think more along the lines of using state of the art technology every step of the way. Every module has been specifically designed to allow our people to learn, share and grow their skills and knowledge of not only the banking industry but also at delivering outstanding customer service. They will learn the most by putting themselves in the shoes of our customers and exploring ways to solve their problems quickly and with as little fuss as possible. They will be the virtual face of Atom and hopefully will feel at the heart of our world before too long. We will help them settle into work by giving them a buddy, someone to ask those small but important questions in the first few weeks as well as making sure they have everything they need to understand the way we work and to make sure they are a success in their new role.
We believe we have some of the best trainers out there and combined with the rest of the talented guys here, our goal is to help our people be the best version of themselves.
