The Technology team is made up of; Testing, Engineering, DevOps, Change, Service Management & Architecture. Together they design, develop and deliver a customer journey that represents Atom and its strong values throughout.

As an Atom bank Test Manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the testing of projects and programmes within the Bank including assuring 3rd Party supplier testing. You will also be responsible for driving best practices in Automation and Non-Functional testing across the Bank as well as providing thought leadership in these areas.

You will have excellent exposure to the principles of testing and defect management as well as working experience of Test Management tools (e.g. Zephyr), JIRA and industry standard automation tools.

What will your ‘typical’ day look like…. (there’s no two days the same in Atom):

  • Manage and deliver the testing of potentially multiple and concurrent Programmes / Projects across all test phases including System, Systems Integration, E2E, UAT & NFT using the appropriate tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Define and manage the appropriate Test Strategy/Approach for Programmes/Projects according to the delivery method being followed (Agile/Waterfall/Mixed) in a changing environment against challenging deadlines. This includes defining the automation and NFT approach
  • Co-ordinate a distributed team consisting of Test Partner Test Resources (on/offshore/remote) allocated to that programme/project area under your responsibility, managing the day to day activities of testing ensuring all the test activities are clearly defined and communicated to the testing team. Including periodically reviewing the test artefacts assuring quality and coverage
  • Ensure that testing processes followed are as per Enterprise Test Framework and Enterprise Test Strategy, ensuring content and structure of all testing artefacts is documented and maintained to satisfy Risk and Audits
  • Oversee production of robust Test Estimates using industry standard techniques
  • Test Environment and Data Management including defining environment and data requirements, agreeing scheduling and approvals of changes into the environment
  • Liaise with Senior Stakeholders on Test Progress reporting
  • Support Defect Management, Audit & Risk reviews and maintain RAID logs
  • Actively collaborate with peers, customers and 3rd parties to drive quality across the lifecycle, acting as an advocate for driving QA best practices across project lifecycle including Automation and NFT
  • Oversee, drive and provide thought leadership in the latest test approaches including a continuous testing shift-left and shift right approach
  • Innovate and improve the existing testing processes and frameworks including automation and NFT capability to enhance the current maturity model, presenting and demonstrating the benefits to senior stakeholders and the wider business
  • Support the Senior Test Manager in Test Practice activities and initiatives

What do we need from you?

  • Experience of managing testing on large Programmes/Projects in agile environments
  • Experience of leading Automation and Non-Functional Testing
  • Excellent knowledge of testing principles, process, methodologies, and test tooling including Jira
  • Excellent communication, leadership & analytical skills
  • Risk/Issue Management experience

What would we ideally like from you?

  • ISEB / ISTQB Advanced Test Management certification / or equivalent
  • Financial Services or Banking experience
  • Proven experience in delivering improvements to Test Practices
  • Experience working with external Test Partner, 3rd Party Assurance and an external set of QA resources
  • Good knowledge of Mobile App Testing and Infrastructure testing
  • Experience of working in DevOps and CI/CD delivery environment
  • Experience of working with Business Stakeholders – at all levels
  • Working experience of Zephyr
