Atom bank is on a mission to secure an A-IRB waiver, revolutionising how we manage credit risk and define our capital requirements. As a Credit Risk Modelling Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this journey, driving the next generation of our credit risk regulatory models. This is your chance to lead, innovate, and make a significant impact on our core financial resilience.
Lined into the Chief Credit Officer - Modelling, you’ll be a key figure in our IRB Project & Modelling team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead Model Delivery: Drive the development, implementation, and management of critical credit risk regulatory models (PD, EAD, LGD for A-IRB, and IFRS9), ensuring timely delivery and strategic impact.
- Expert Calibration & Improvement: Take charge of calibrating and realigning models, and continuously enhance our development, monitoring, and validation methodologies.
- Regulatory Assurance: Ensure all models meet stringent external regulations (especially CRR for A-IRB) and internal policies, collaborating closely with the Independent Model Validation team.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a talented team of modellers, fostering their growth in technical and regulatory compliance matters.
- Strategic Communication: Present complex model developments, changes, and monitoring results to senior stakeholders, including at the Model Risk Committee.
- Data Mastery: Leverage your extensive experience in data manipulation and mining to extract powerful insights for model development.
What do we need from you?
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in developing PD, EAD, and LGD models for IRB, as well as IFRS9 models across various lending portfolios.
- Hands-on experience developing linear and logistic regression models using SAS, R, Python, or similar tools.
- Experience managing and coaching a team of analysts, modellers, or data scientists.
- Strong knowledge of CRR with respect to A-IRB and credit risk models, including best practices for their development and maintenance.
- Awareness of advanced supervised machine learning techniques (e.g., decision trees, random forests).
- Ability to present complex analysis clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Excellent ability to manage and prioritise complex modelling projects.
