Why do you use biometrics?

In a nutshell, it’s to keep your account safe. We’ve done away with passwords and taken your security to a whole new level. But that doesn’t mean it’s complicated. In fact it’s the opposite.

Our biometric security uses your face and voice to access your account and we’ve got a passcode too, so you can choose the right combination of login methods for you

Using biometrics means we can keep your account secure, but at the same time make it really easy for you to access. Sometimes you might need to use multiple credentials to complete certain activities in the app, but because we use biometrics, it really speeds up the process. After all, it’s much easier to take a photo or read a phrase out loud, than try to remember a convoluted password.

Will you introduce Touch ID or fingerprint recognition?

We’re always looking at the types of security that you’d like to use most. We’re hoping to introduce fingerprint recognition in the future. Once that’s live, you’ll have three types of biometric security, along with a six-digit passcode.

Do I have to use my face and voice to register?

Yes, to become an Atom customer, you have to register face and voice biometrics.

When you register Your ID data and every time you use it to log in or step up, it is encrypted and remains accessible to us for a limited period of time. It is then stored as an algorithm so it cannot be accessed as an identifiable piece of personal data.

How do you make sure my details are safe?

Keeping your data secure is really important to us, so we do a number of things to keep your information safe. One of these is that we never store your data on the app. Any data that we keep on our servers is encrypted and stored securely. All these actions, and the others we take, help to keep your data safe.
