What will your ‘typical’ day look like? Different that’s for sure…:

AI and Data Science drives Atom’s automation and digitalisation initiative. The AI and Data Science team leverage Big Data technologies to maximise the returns from our data assets, exploratory analysis and predictive models.

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will help to create and maintain an efficient, sustainable and agile data analytics platform for a data driven digital bank. You’ll work with a combination of event driven techniques and batch processing methodologies, as well as developing skills and knowledge in Atom’s cloud-based data and data pipelines as part of a cross-functional team.

You will:

  • Build and maintain data ETL jobs using a range of tools including PostgreSQL, Talend, Python and Kafka.
  • Work on cloud-based architecture to deliver robust data pipelines.
  • Assist with the design and integrity of data solutions.
  • Support the maintenance of robust and high-quality data throughout all design and implementation.
  • Adhere to data governance principles and standards
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Science, Reporting and Data Engineering teams to maintain consistent and accurate data.
  • Continuously evaluate data processes and procedures to maintain a positive and efficient data culture within Atom.

What do we need from you?

  • Knowledge of SQL querying & development
  • Experience with either relational or analytics databases, such as SQL
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Knowledge of Data Management, ETL development and Database/Data Warehousing, Structured and Unstructured data.
  • Good analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of how data can be used to drive operational and strategic decisions
