My Money Story: spender vs saver

If you have walked through Newcastle city centre recently, you might have spotted Atom bank’s Robbie in his signature purple sequin jacket. He has been out with his microphone to get the honest truth on how locals manage their money.

In the latest edition of My Money Story, we chat with two local residents with completely different approaches to cash. One is a committed saver who decided he has spent enough on fast cars for a lifetime. The other prefers enjoying his money by spending it on trendy clothes, embracing the philosophy that life is for the living.

When asked about their favourite purchases, the responses were just as varied. Our saver pointed to a motorhome he’d saved up for, while our spender opted for a classic wristwatch. Proof again that everyone’s financial goals look a little different.
