We’re Atom…
The bank that’s on a mission to make finance faster, simpler and way more human.
We’ve ditched the stuffy banking model to build something that actually works for our customers, whenever and wherever they need us. To make this happen, we’re looking for like-minded people who can help us reach our goals and think differently.
If you’re ready to build the future of banking, we’d love to meet you.
We really value in-person collaboration, so this role requires 2 days per week in our Newcastle office.
What Will Your Typical Day Look like?
As a Commercial TBDM, you will be the voice, face, and driving force behind our commercial broker relationships across your assigned UK region. You won’t just be answering phones; you will act as a trusted commercial lending consultant and champion our brand.
Working in tandem with our field-based Senior Commercial BDMs (SCBDMs) and internal lending teams, you will empower brokers to deliver exceptional outcomes for business borrowers.
What Will You be Doing:
- Champion our intermediary network: Own and grow a designated regional panel of commercial intermediaries and broker firms through high-impact inbound and outbound telephone and video engagement.
- Educate and inspire: Deliver engaging online presentations, product deep-dives, and system walkthroughs that turn brokers into long-term advocates for Atom.
- Drive deal quality and volume: Guide brokers through our commercial lending criteria, operational workflows, and application lifecycle to ensure high conversion rates and compliant submissions.
- Collaborate across the business: Partner closely with regional SCBDMs, Lending Managers, and Origination teams to ensure seamless deal progression from first enquiry to drawdown.
- Get out on the circuit: Occasionally step away from the desk to join broker roadshows, networking events, and industry conferences alongside our field teams.
- Keep standards sharp: Act as a robust first line of defence, ensuring all lending activities remain aligned with regulatory standards and fair customer outcomes.
What We Need From You:
You love building real rapport, you know how to unpack complex information into clear advice, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your work has a measurable impact.
- Proven relationship builder: Experience in telephony-based sales, business development, or proactive customer management (financial services or commercial lending experience is strongly preferred).
- Market-savvy: A solid understanding of the UK financial services landscape and lending principles.
- Clear, engaging communicator: Confident presenting via phone, video, and in person, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all seniority levels.
- Adaptable and self-driven: Comfortable navigating change, managing your own pipeline, and balancing multiple priorities.
- Outcome-focused: Passionate about providing service excellence and doing the right thing for the end customer.
What Will You Get From Us:
- Salary of up to £32,500
- Flexible hybrid working in Newcastle
- 4-day work week
- Incredibly generous company pension scheme (maximum of 13% of Atom input – candidate can put in more)
- 22.5 days annual leave plus public holiday
- Private Medical Insurance, Health Cash Plan, Life Insurance & Critical illness cover
- £200 “All about me” fund
- EV Scheme
